‘I’ll Fight Joshua Even When I’m 60’: Dillian Whyte Agrees to Fight Anthony Joshua at a Discount

Twice Anthony Joshua beat Dillian Whyte inside the ring. Once in 2009, when the two were amateur fighters in boxing and then in 2015 in a professional match with three titles on the line. When in 2015, the duo fought inside the O2 Arena in Greenwich, Joshua secure a 7th-round TKO win. Dillian Whyte is yearning to avenge his loss against Joshua in the ring.

‘The Body Snatcher’, who fought his last on April 23 against Tyson Fury, is likely to fight Joshua in 2023. However, Whyte is so eager to avenge his loss against ‘AJ’ in the ring that he has announced to fight the 33-year-old for “less money”.

In a recent interview, Whyte expressed what the Anthony Joshua fight meant to him. According to his statement, Whyte would fight ‘AJ’ tomorrow if need be. According to Whyte, whenever he and Joshua fight, sparks fly. It is crucial for Whyte that he fights ‘AJ’ one more time in the ring.

“I’ll fight Joshua tomorrow. I’ll fight him for less money. Whenever me and him fight, sparks fly. We just want to beat each other up,” said a passionate Whyte.

Seven years ago, on 12th December 2015, Whyte squared off against Joshua inside a professional ring. BBBofC British Heavy (vacant) (supervisor: Charles Giles), Commonwealth Boxing Council Heavy (supervisor: Eric Armit), and WBC International Heavy titles were put on the line. When Joshua fought Whyte in 2015, he had a record of 0 losses and 14 wins.

Joshua stopped Whyte in 7th round of their pro fight. After Joshua, Whyte fought the likes of Derek Chisora, Robert Helenius, Alexander Povetkin, and Tyson Fury. Regarding his will to face ‘AJ’ one more time, Whyte said, “I’ll fight Joshua even when I’m 60. It’s a fight that will make you me faster, diet better, and make me go to bed at 7 o’clock every day.”
