Terence Crawford would never forget March 2 because this day changed the course of his entire life. The reality of the prospect to become a champion came true on this day. Nine years ago from now, he got his first title shot which he craved his entire life since he started boxing in Omaha. The 35-year-old boxer recalled this day and celebrated the memories of it on Instagram.
He shared the highlight of the fight and wrote, “9 year Anniversary of my first belt.”

The caption reads, “This is the fight that changed my life. Nine years ago I traveled to Scotland to face hometown hero Ricky Burns. I came out with the win and it was the beginning of my P4P journey.”
Back then, Crawford was 26 and Burns was 30 with a record of 36-2-1 (11 KO). With good footwork, Crawford dominated the hometown star and clinched the WBO lightweight title by decision. Following this, he never looked back. He stepped up in weight class and unified four belts for the first time in the junior welterweight division.

Next, he moved to 147lbs and again bagged the WBO title. To date, he has made six successful defenses of it and eventually established himself as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world. His 39-0 record is evidence of his set of skills and attracted a huge fan base who was interested in the champion’s life. So when they came across this post, they shared their thoughts on it.
