Deontay Wilder is no short of a big brand in heavyweight boxing today. He is one of the scariest knockout artists the sports have ever seen. But in his budding years, a common question popping up among boxing fans was- Is he related to NBA star LeBron James by any means?
More than a year ago, the ‘Bronze Bomber’ was in an interview with GQ Sports, where he shed some light on this highly talked upon topic.
He said, “You know what, true story back in 2007, 2008, during the Olympics, Beijing, people come up to me all the time asking me, ‘Are you, LeBron James?’ Asking for autographs and stuff.”

Wilder flashed back to a time when he was an amateur fighter who was representing his country in the prestigious Olympic games. He affirmed that there was a sea of fans who came up to him asking for photos and autographs. Wilder looks pretty similar to James, and that puzzled the group of fans who cited the young ‘Bronze Bomber’ as ‘King James’.
He continued, “They really thought I was LeBron. That happened to me so many times for at least about a year or two and it died down, and they finally came to realization that I’m the baddest man on the planet. So now they call me champ Wilder.”
From that time until today, Wilder made his own top-notch profile in the sporting universe and has not needed to introduce himself.
