Guess who is back? The one and only Jermell Charlo. The undisputed junior middleweight champion was out of the sport for a substantial amount of time. Not to mention, he has been inactive in recent years. In the last four years, the combatant has only competed four times. However, the wait is now over as the 33-year-old will make his return to the ring in less than a week and his comeback is quite a spectacle, to say the least. The champion will now be the challenger, as he will move up in weight class and compete against Canelo Alvarez for the undisputed super middleweight title.
But is he biting more than he can chew? Many would suggest that. A lot has been made about their weight disparity. Even the betting odds have him as a heavy underdog going into the fight. Charlo is married to a woman of Hawaiian origin, Chy Westbrook. Not much about her personal life exists in the public domain or is known to the boxing world at large. However, at the same time, the couple has not kept their relationship completely private. Westbrook is a self-proclaimed, ‘Personal assistant.’ In addition, her brother, Douglas Westbrook, has a successful real estate business.
She has an active social media presence with almost 14,000 Instagram followers. Although she is on other platforms like X, she is relatively less active on that platform. However, on her Instagram account, she does not shy away from sharing and giving fans an insight into her life. Not to mention, from time to time she also shares an image of herself with her better half.
Back in May of last year, she posted a picture of herself with Charlo and his brother. In the caption, she stated, “If he ain’t on your P4P list now, Fck your list.” Safe to say, she is one of his biggest fans. Westbrook has three children from her past relationship- 3 sons and one daughter. And, for all we know, both of them have been a pillar of support for each other.
