Deontay Wilder came across the most humiliating phase of his boxing career after losing the WBC strap to Tyson Fury via seventh-round TKO in February 2020. However, not everyone sees the American star’s last fight as a loss. Looking upon Wilder’s alarming resume of 42-1-1, several people believe Wilder has learned a lot from his sole career loss to ‘The Gypsy King’.
Unified lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez is one of them. ‘Take Over’ recently sat with Fight Hub to talk about several things. One topic was Fury vs Wilder 3.

‘Take Over’ said, “I think he has a different game plan you know. He is training with Malik Scott. And he is looking good. You know Wilder is looking good. He looks ready, he looks determined. So you know it’s a great matchup.”
Teofimo Lopez added, “I think that with Wilder you know. It was not a loss for him, it was a lesson learned.”

However, it was quite a tragic lesson for the ex-WBC champion, who seemed invincible until that point. Tyson Fury poleaxed Deontay Wilder, prompting the Alabama native’s corner to throw in the towel midway through round 7.
The memory of that will be fresh in his head once he steps into the ring on October 9. However, it will be on ‘The Bronze Bomber’ to carry his pre-fight determination into the ring and clear his mind of any distractions at the T-Mobile Arena.
