“It’s Just Pathetic”- Frank Warren Slams Deontay Wilder’s Excuses

Deontay Wilder suffered his first professional defeat this year. He lost to Tyson Fury after this corner three in the towel in the 7th round. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ has been making excuses ever since his loss. These haven’t gone down well with the boxing community. ‘The Gypsy King’s promoter Frank Warren is the latest to hit back. 

Frank Warren slams Deontay Wilder labels his excuses “pathetic”

He told iFLTV, “It’s just pathetic. To even be coming up with those ridiculous excuses is just…”

“Look, you get beat, you get beat. If anybody should be complaining, it should be Tyson Fury after the first fight when he got robbed.” 

Here Warren referred to their pair’s clash in 2018 which ended in a draw. It was the first time ‘The Gypsy King’ did not win in his lengthy professional career.

“That’s the only debate in either of these two fights. First fight he got robbed and the second fight he took him to school. He outboxed him, he out-gamed him, he out-punched him and he showed another side of his boxing skills. He should just get on with it and move on. If he wants the third fight, let’s get it on and he can prove his point in the ring. I don’t think he will.”

Wilder recently revealed he injured himself in the fight and Warren addressed this too. 

“Before the fight, he never complained about any injuries, he said he trained really well for the fight. I’m surprised with Deontay because I’ve got a lot of time for him.”

The pair will meet for a third time. ‘The Gypsy King’ expressed surprise at his opponent exercising the option. This is because he calls it “a one-sided fight” in which ‘The Bronze Bomber’ “didn’t win a second.”

Will ‘The Gypsy King’ silence ‘The Bronze Bomber’ once and for all? Or will the challenger back up his tall claims and claim the titles?

If Deontay Wilder is to do so, let’s hope he does not wear a 40-pound costume as he did last time. The costume is one of his “excuses” and he claims it weakened his legs and drained him of energy.
