Once again, the rivalry between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder seems to have escalated. The two were originally scheduled to meet in the ring for their trilogy fight on July 24th.
However, the much-awaited bout has been pushed to October 9th as Tyson Fury’s camp reportedly tested positive for COVID-19. His recent social media activity suggests that he is now back in full form and has resumed training.

But his opponent is not buying his claims. Deontay Wilder recently criticized the Englishman for faking the COVID positive results to get their trilogy fight pushed further back.
‘The Gypsy King’ was quick to clap back at his long-time rival. He took shots at Wilder by calling him an “excuse maker”. Fury also claimed that he has defeated both Wilder and his trainer before.
This man is a real piece of work. A real bully excuse maker. Not a warrior or a man at all. Beat the mug 2 times.
I’ve battered him and his trainer. But still talking shit. Real pussies 🐱 @BronzeBomber pic.twitter.com/7cxWaRm4AQ

“This man is a real piece of work. A real bully excuse maker. Not a warrior or a man at all. Beat the mug 2 times. I’ve battered him and his trainer. But still talking shit. Real p*****s,” tweeted Tyson Fury.
Ever since his loss to Tyson Fury last January, Deontay Wilder has been hard at work. He has been training with his new trainer, Malik Scott.
Since the fight was originally set in July, Wilder had completed his training camp. However, Scott and ‘The Bronze Bomber’ have now extended their camp.
Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury 3- Third time’s a charm?
In the first two fights, Deontay Wilder had clear gaps in his game plan against Tyson Fury. The Alabama native constantly threw wide-angled haymakers and even dropped the Englishman twice.
However, his defense was almost non-existent, showed little footwork and movement, and was keen on securing a knockout win. Fury’s ability to defend himself and constant jabs helped him bring the first fight to a draw.

In Round 7, ‘The Gypsy King’ went on the offense and cornered his opponent and poured down heavy shots on him. Referee Kenny Bayless was forced to step in and call the fight. Tyson Fury secured a clean win by way of technical knockout.
Ever since the end of the second fight, Deontay Wilder has been training in anticipation of a rematch with Tyson Fury. With Malik Scott, his new trainer, he has been working on correcting some errors he made in the second fight.
In recent videos shared on social media, Wilder’s form definitely seems different. He looks more agile, shows impressive movement and footwork.
Clearly, Tyson Fury’s opponent is hungry for redemption and is taking the extra step to get a win on October 9th.
