The super welterweight kingpin, Jermell Charlo, will look to grab all four world titles under his name when he takes on the undefeated Brian Castano this week in an intriguing main event collision. Although ‘Iron Man’ is the favorite, a few of Castano’s achievements might have raised doubts about a Charlo win among the fans.
One such achievement is Brian Castano’s amateur level win over the current unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. Although it seems a big win for the Argentine pugilist, Charlo didn’t seem to bother about it. In the press conference, he shed light on that and denied praising Castano for vanquishing Spence Jr. as an amateur.

“Amateur sh** don’t matter. Man, I don’t wanna talk about any amateur s***. This s*** doesn’t matter to me, amateur boxing right now,” said Jermell Charlo.
Meanwhile, Claressa Shields also came to support ‘The Truth’ and stated how amateur boxing is nowhere near professional boxing. Besides, Errol Spence Jr. also reacted to the issue as his name popped up. “Well over a decade ago,” wrote the WBC/IBF 147 lbs champion.

Still undefeated, Errol Spence Jr. is widely regarded as one of the best southpaws in the sport. A loss in a below-professional level against Castano doesn’t do any harm to his legacy. However, the in-ring scenario between Castano and Charlo this week doesn’t take away the Argentine boxer’s chances. Boasting off the WBO strap, ‘El Boxi’ can shock many people on fight night.

The nearing collision will see two of the best super welterweight punchers compete in an epic title unification fight. Both the champions appear confident and would righty relish their chances in the ring. However, Charlo’s record of 34-1 reflects more experience on his corner. Besides, he has all the tools to trouble any opponent, and ‘El Boxi’ will be no exception.
