Meta is undoubtedly the undisputed ruler of the social media scene. However, this throne was left shaken after one of their major apps faced a massive outage. The world was sent into panic mode after the instant messaging app WhatsApp went down. And in turn, halting multiple businesses and conversations. The boxing world also saw the panic spread, as KSI took to social media to voice his concerns.

WhatsApp has over 2 billion global users. Not to mention the countless businesses that rely on the platform. The messaging app suffered a major outage during the early hours of Tuesday and remained inaccessible for almost two hours.

Meta’s tech team had to quickly get into action so as to keep this fast-paced ‘Metaverse’ running. And the app finally resumed services after 2 AM Pacific Time.

While Meta did not reveal the reason for the outage. A spokesperson later updated users, saying, “We know people had trouble sending messages on WhatsApp today. We’ve fixed the issue and apologize for any inconvenience.”

Meanwhile, KSI was quick to notice the void created by WhatsApp’s outage.

In a tweet, KSI expressed his displeasure with the app. He also mentioned that he finally realized how much he relied on the app.

It is worth mentioning that the 19-billion-dollar platform is an integral part of the digital infrastructure of multiple sectors, including government and telecom providers.

Fans chime in with KSI

Fans were quick to agree with KSI’s statement. And a lot of fans took to social media to share their thoughts.

User @mulaax0 nodded in agreement, and even stated that they thought they were ‘going crazy’.

A few iPhone aficionados, on the other hand, were quick to promote iMessage as their favorite messaging app. However, it should be noted that, while iMessage is a popular app, it sees far less traffic than WhatsApp.

Meanwhile, a few of KSI’s American audience members were surprised that he uses WhatsApp.

Another user did not shy away from taking a sly swipe at KSI with a Jake Paul reference.

In a separate tweet, user @sammiemanini1 was quick to notice Twitter’s increased usage during WhatsApp’s absence.
