Boxing is a sport that thrives on competition and rivalries. While some fights get canceled for reasons beyond anyone’s control, others never materialize because one fighter doesn’t accept the challenge. Recently, there has been a lot of talk about the canceled fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. While Tyson Fury’s younger brother, Tommy Fury, defended his sibling, someone from the world of boxing called him out for not accepting a fight challenge.
KSI’s ex-coach accuses Tommy Fury of ignoring call-out
In a recent interview with Sky Sports Boxing, Tommy Fury addressed the rumors surrounding his brother Tyson Fury’s canceled fight with Oleksandr Usyk. The younger Fury brother denied that Tyson was to blame for the fight not happening, stating that “It’s all politics in boxing, but I want, you know, to say it first hand is that the reason why this fight isn’t being made isn’t down to Tyson at all. He wants to fight, he’s proven to everybody. He’s gone and fought Deontay Wilder, he will fight any man, he don’t fear any man, especially not a cruiserweight.”

However, not everyone is convinced by Tommy’s statements. Viddal Riley, former coach of YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI, took to Twitter to criticize Tommy for ignoring a call-out from his team. In response to the Sky Sports Boxing’s tweet featuring the video of Tommy’s comments, Riley wrote, “So he’s alive and well to talk on other situations but not our fight. 😴”

Riley’s tweet seems to suggest that Tommy Fury is avoiding a potential fight with him. It’s worth noting that the rankings may have added fuel to the fire of the call-out, as Tommy Fury recently entered the WBC Cruiserweight rankings at #39 after his recent victory over Jake Paul. Interestingly, Viddal Riley also entered the rankings at #40, placing him one spot below Fury. This may have added some extra tension between the two fighters, as they are now ranked very close to one another in the same weight class.

Despite the rankings, it remains to be seen whether a fight between Tommy Fury and Viddal Riley will actually come to fruition. However, Riley’s call-out and subsequent criticism of Fury for not responding has certainly caught the attention of boxing fans and may have added some extra drama to the already exciting world of boxing. It will be interesting to see how Fury responds to the call-out, and whether or not he will agree to fight Viddal in the near future.
