Former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has suffered from a major setback in his career. Despite having a good reign as a champion, ‘AJ’ suffered two defeats at the hands of the current champion Oleksandr Usyk, and has not fought since his last defeat. Although the British boxer looked better in his second performance against ‘The Cat’, he was definitely not on the level of the latter who beat him comfortably.
Since then, we have not seen Joshua compete in the ring. However, this could change as ‘AJ’ will make his return to the sport this year and is more than ready to get back into title contention. Moreover, he will compete in his first non-title fight in almost seven years facing Jermaine Franklin on April 1. The bout will take place in the O2 arena in London, in front of Joshua’s home crowd. This might not be a fight against Fury which was almost booked last year before the fight fell through, but it will be an excellent test for the former champion.
