The force of the punch sent her crashing to the floor, and she didn’t get up again.
With a 4-0-1 record, Marie Pier Houle entered this bout as a favorite over Jeannette Zacarias Zapata, who had a 2-4 track record.
Marie Pier Houle constantly pressured Jeanette Zacarias Zapata, and the latter suffered fatal injuries in the bout. Later, the event’s promoter, Groupe Yvon Michel, announced the Mexican boxer’s death on social media.
