Mike Tyson Continues Fighting at 56, but These Bouts Aren’t Televised: ‘I Like to Put Them in Their Place’

In 2005, the former heavyweight champion of the world, Mike Tyson, retired from professional boxing. At present, he is 56 years old. Although it has been seventeen years since he hung his gloves and walked away from the sport, Mike Tyson still fights. As expressed by Tyson, when he lost his love and passion for the sport, he thought about bidding a bye to the ring.

Tyson may not fight inside the professional ring anymore. However, he often encounters challenges and disrespectful people who he must fight. In an interview with DaBaby, on being asked when was the last time Tyson had fought outside the ring, Tyson replied, “Not too long ago.” Even though Tyson was 56, he revealed that when he fought, the other person barely got the chance to hit him.

Tyson said, “It’s fighting when the ni**a is fighting me back – sh*t like that? I’m talking about like I’m fighting back and not [just] talking to the guy, and I’m the only guy who’s throwing punches? [Then] Not too long ago. I love disrespectful ni**as. I like to put them in their place.”

According to Tyson’s statement, every time he fights, it is only him punching. Looks like, even at 56, Tyson is still the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ walking.

Tyson made his pro debut in 1985. He became a world champion in pro heavyweight boxing by the time he turned twenty. In a 20-year-long career, Tyson has fought some of the scariest fighters of his time. Irrespective of a few setbacks and controversies, Tyson won fifty of his professional fights. An overwhelming figure of 44 fights he won via knockout in the ring.

Despite his rich career in boxing, Tyson is rarely satisfied. Once he revealed the greatest warrior ever he would love to fight. According to ‘Kid Dynamite’, Homer’s Achilles was the greatest warrior to live. Tyson said he would love to square off against this larger-than-life character from an epic.
