Is Andre August’s identity limited to just being Jake Paul’s next opponent? Having been inactive in the ring since 2019, Andre August has rekindled his saga in the boxing realm this year. Come December 15th, he will fight the most crucial bout of his career against the leader of the influencer-boxing realm, Jake Paul. A fight of this magnitude requires him to be in his A-game. However, his recent training sessions suggest otherwise.

It was 2013 when Texas native August entered the ring for his debut pro fight. The South Padre Island fight against Steven Medrano saw him win via a knockout. Since then, began his journey in the cutthroat landscape of boxing. Over the next few years, August would power through his opponents one after the other, registering only one loss among 12 fights. But then came 2019, when his career came to a standstill. 4 years later, he resumes from where he left off. But is he prepared to do so? Fans disagree.

On December 15th, Andre enters the ring against a fighter who is known to bring his best to the fight. ‘Problem Child’ Paul has time and again proven his worth in the ring by defeating his opponents through his powerful jabs. Now, when Andre fights someone like Paul, he needs to be up to the mark. But his recent heavy bag training videos suggest otherwise.

One fan in a mockery told August would knock out Paul on fight night.

Imagine being compared to a default video game fighter. Lethal blow right? But that’s what a fan saw Andre as.

By juxtaposing Paul and Andre’s record, a user saw the latter as the underdog. However, they did not seem that glad about Problem Child taking the lead here.

A fan compared Andre’s skills to their grandma’s. The result? The grandma would win.

Another fan continued their attacks on Jake Paul. There is a popular belief that Paul fights opponents whom he knows can’t sustain against him. The fan suggests that the Andre fight is a result of such cherry-picking.

Riskiest fight for Jake Paul? Andre August

He revealed that the upcoming fight is the “biggest challenge” of his life. While claiming that the fight holds very little to gain, he added that to lose, he’s got a lot. He wrote, “Biggest challenge of my career. Most risk. Little immediate gain. Lots of long term progress.”
