YouTube sensation Jake Paul and Matchroom CEO Eddie Hearn have been feuding over the past few months since the two co-promoted a historic card at MSG. This feud started after Paul made some serious accusations about the British promoter following Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor back in April.

Following this, Hearn sued the Ohio-based boxer for $100 million, which might be the largest suit Paul has ever received. However, he doesn’t seem to be concerned about this as he addressed the issue. In an interview with MMA Junkie, Paul was asked if he was worried about getting sued by Hearn before his fight against Anderson Silva. He stated that he wasn’t focused on the lawsuit and claimed that it was being dealt with by his lawyers.” No, I’m not even focused on it. I have this fight coming up October 29th and my lawyers are dealing with that.
um so haven’t really even put any thought into it.” He said.

Moreover, he added that he is used to getting sued for trivial things and had all the time and money to fight Hearn’s suit.” I get sued all the time for stupid s**t. I’m 5-0 in lawsuits and I’m 5-0 in the ring. So uh I got all the time in the world, all the money in the world.” he added.

The saga between Jake Paul and Eddie Hearn

Paul was the promoter of Serrano who lost via split decision in a tight battle with Taylor. However, according to Paul, the judging was not fair, as he thought Serrano had secured the victory. He then accused Hearn of paying the referee to favor Taylor.

This type of sh*t. I’m gonna call it out in boxing because it’s bullsh*t. And, clearly, this guy is getting paid by Matchroom Boxing. And that is a bold statement and an accusation that I don’t take lightly. But it’s just blatantly obvious they’re not even trying to hide it.” Paul said in an interview with IFLTV.

Following this, Hearn filed the $100 million lawsuit against Paul calling his comments ‘idiotic’ and ‘disrespectful’. “We take our values as a business and a family, very, very seriously. We love the sport of boxing. For him to come out with idiotic comments without even thinking about what he said, is extremely harmful to me and us as a business, and very disrespectful to us as a business and a family,” Hearn said.

Although Paul and Hearn promoted a very successful event together, it seems that their relationship has been strained beyond repair. The lawsuit is the perfect example of this, as Hearn could have ignored Paul’s comments but decided to sue him for $100 million.
