When news of his devastating injury emerged, the fraternity rushed to his side. One among those well-wishers was the former welterweight champion, Floyd Mayweather.

Mayweather has often risen up to the occasion and been that ray of hope amidst clouds of uncertainty. Be it his stepping up in aid of victims of the recent Maui wildfires to being there by his pal’s side through his tribulations, the fighter is a name one can count on during situations of distress. It was 2014 and ‘Money’ Mayweather was preparing for his rematch against Marcos Maidana. It was then that the entire sports realm was shaken to its core. News emerged that LA Clippers star, Paul George, had suffered a massive injury that put his career in question. It was also informed that the player had incurred a gruesome open tibia-fibula fracture in his right leg during a Team USA scrimmage. This would leave him unable to enter the court for almost an entire year. In his one week at the hospital, George was supported by Mayweather who visited him every day.

Remembering those days when he found immense support in Mayweather, PG said, “Shout out Floyd bro. Floyd is my guy. No bullshit. Floyd was there every day. He pulled up on me every day, and I was in the hospital for like a week, I wanna say. Bro, I saw Floyd every day.”

Further talking about how Mayweather knew how to make PG feel better, the LA Clippers’ fame said, “‘P you need anything?’ Bro, he’s bringing me soul food. Come in there, chop it with me, chop it up with my folks on like some real humble shit. Love Floyd for that.”
