The P4P King Canelo Alvarez is being pitched opposite several names from the UFC roster. Despite ruling away the so-called mega-fights, Alvarez continues to get potential opponents from the media.
After UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman failed to grab Alvarez’s attention, a section of the audience proposed a scrap between Conor McGregor and the 168 lbs unified champion. However, Alvarez didn’t seem interested. Akin to the Usman fight talks, the P4P king discarded the rumors of him facing ‘Notorious’.
In a chat with BT Sport, Canelo Alvarez reacted to McGregor’s name and said, “Oh my god, no. Don’t try man, don’t try.” (H/T:- Michael Benson)

Ahead of his undisputed super-middleweight title fight against Caleb Plant, Alvarez seems to have several options available for his combat future. From shifting divisions in boxing to bringing in MMA stars, the Mexican sensation is spoiled for choice.

In reaction to his fight-talks with Kamaru Usman, Alvarez openly claimed how ‘pay-day’ may have influenced ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ to call him out. As he reacted similarly to facing Conor McGregor, it is a sign that Alvarez only wants to fight top boxers within the ropes.

Light heavyweight champions-Beterbiev and Bivol can be viable names to bring Canelo Alvarez to the 175 lbs division. Besides, the Mexican superstar recently opened up on facing GGG for one last time. After two intense battles, Alvarez stands 1-0-1 over his Kazakh rival. He is willing to dance around with Golovkin only if GGG moves up to 168.
However, it is not likely as middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin has shown very little interest in jumping divisions at the age of 39. That said, should he beat Ryota Murata in December, he could change his mind and move up to secure one last mega payday.

The likes of the light heavyweight champions, Golovkin, or even David Benavidez, will be meaningful, challenging, and big money fights for Alvarez, who is at his peak. Hence, it would be prudent for him to face pure boxers rather than dip his toes into a fight against an MMA fighter, as he would be levels above them in boxing.
