Olympic Medalist Left Awe-Struck of Artur Beterbiev’s Impressive Wrist Training In Resurfaced Clip

Russo-Canadian boxer, Artur Beterbiev is officially unstoppable. In light of his fresh victory, an old video of him exhibiting his brilliant strength has gone viral, leaving an acclaimed fighter jaw-dropped.

Over the weekend, Beterbiev registered his 20th victory in his career’s 20th fight. In Quebec City, Canada, Beterbiev defeated Callum Smith via a 7th-round knockout, successfully defending his IBF, WBC, and WBO light heavy belts. This victory highlights his prominence in the sport as a knockout machine, backing the claims with all his victories coming through knockouts. As he reaps the benefits of this win, a video has gone on to make fans believe that he is a fighter who is here to stay.

Artur Beterbiev: “scariest man alive”

On The Record Boxing, a quaint boxing enthusiast account on X posted an old TikTok video of the Dagestan-born fighter in which he is performing a unique set of strength training workouts, only using his knuckles. The caption on the clip reads, “Artur Beterbiev scariest man alive.” The snippet is further followed by him rolling a barbell rod using only one hand. While the resurfaced video left fans impressed, former English fighter Tony Jefferies chimed in with his commentary. A little intimidated but mostly impressed, the 2008 Summer Olympics Bronze Medalist noted, “I got a wrist injury from just watching this.” 

The video resurfaces in the light of his spectacular victory against Callum Smith. Many of these speculations were rooted in his age. At 38, he clashed against 33-year-old ‘Mundo’ who is known to have fazed the likes of John Ryder and Cesar Hernan Reynoso and even went the distance with Canelo Álvarez. Despite these predictions, a steadfast Beterbiev proved his prowess in a fashion that only insists on his next showdown being just as spectacular if not better.

Beterbiev has three belts in his kitty. Now, he eyes the WBA belt that could make him undisputed in the weight class. Interestingly, the belt is currently held by Russian fighter, Dmitry Bivol. Right after defeating Smith, he outlined to SkySports his aim to fight Bivol. He noted ringside, “Yes, Yes. I want this fight. I want this fight a couple of years, since a couple of years, you know?” Does the undefeated Bivol also chase this fight? Beterbiev responds, “But he says always, last four years. He always says, next fight he will with me. But never do.”

Doubling on the fighter’s need, promoter Bob Arum too spoke of it. However, the Top Rank head refused to claim its fortification. To DAZN, he noted, “It’s not done yet,” he said in the ring after the fight. “But absolutely we want to do it. I’ll be talking to my friend His Excellency [Saudi Advisor] Turki Alalshikh. I know he wants to do it, but Ramadan is coming. So, about three months after the end of Ramadan we’ll be ready to fight Dmitry Bivol, probably in Riyadh.”

Bivol has not yet commented on Beterbiev’s call for a fight. However, it is a clash fans have been anticipating for a while now. When it does happen, the light-heavyweight division will get its next undisputed champion, a crown last worn by Roy Jones Jr.
