Promoter Details Why Dillian Whyte Doesn’t Deserve a 45% Purse Split Against Tyson Fury

A mega-fight between Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte would have allured the entire boxing fraternity. Putting a classic boxer against a classic puncher, Fury vs Whyte could have staged one of the biggest PPVs in recent times. However, the matchup doesn’t seem to be happening in the immediate future.
Currently, the WBC Interim heavyweight champion, Dillian Whyte, is in a position to challenge Tyson Fury for the world title. It is a fight that can help the heavyweight division remain in the flow. But Whyte seems to be in talks with WBC regarding the arbitration.
Besides, ‘The Body Snatcher’ also demanded 45% of the Purse-split, which Fury’s promoter clearly didn’t like. In a recent chat with IFL TV, Frank Warren addressed several things and revealed why Dillian Whyte doesn’t deserve that amount of money.

Warren said, “Because he [Dillian Whyte] was Interim champion at one time, but he got beat. And he won, and he had a re-match and got it and won back, but that changed the position. But more importantly purse bits are determined on. Remember, once he got beat that finished his position as the Interim champion.”
How Good Is Floyd Mayweather as a Knockout Artist?
28-2 as a professional, Whyte knocked out Alexander Povetkin in his latest outing to secure the WBC interim strap. The win looked good on his resume, especially after losing the first fight via a KO. ‘The Body Snatcher’ is now a top-tier title contender and shall receive his shot at the gold soon. While none can take his position on the WBC ride, a potential fight with Tyson Fury is still up in the air.

Fury vs Whyte is a valid matchup, but ‘The Gypsy King’ may take a different fight before colliding against his Brit contemporary. Per Warren, Fury is supposed to return in March next year. However, he may not defend his WBC belt and opt to put his Ring or Lineal heavyweight titles at stake.
Currently, WBC and Whyte seem to be in talks regarding arbitrary confusion.

If the scenario doesn’t resolve by early 2022, Fury will stage his return against any of the available opponents. He is the undefeated kingpin of the division and is seemingly in the final years of his career. That said, it is up to Dillian Whyte about how badly he wants a scrap with ‘The Gypsy King’.
