There is an extensive list of rappers who are big fans of boxing. The renowned Canadian rapper Drake is also one of them. His inclination towards this sport has made him pretty good at throwing fists. Often you can find his videos laced with gloves and practicing. However, recently a celebrated southpaw of this generation warned Drake about his technique and style. He reflected on the way Drake emulates, the great Floyd Mayweather’s style.

Recently, the unified IBF and WBC welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr took to an exclusive interview. Interestingly, the highlight of this interaction was Spence Jr’s spectrum of opinions on rappers and their boxing skills.

While shedding light on how good rappers are in boxing, ‘The Truth’ began with one of the biggest stars of this generation, Drake.

On a scale of five, Spence Jr gave 3.5, which means above average. Furthermore, he elaborated on it.

He said, “He’s screaming with it, too. He looks like he got a lil pop. He’s got a nice stance. He’s got a good right hand, too. And he’s gotta keep that chin down. That’s how a lot of people get clipped, keeping that chin area like that. He looks like he has good power. He’s gotta keep that left hand up though, man. That’s trouble. That’s how you get put to sleep.

Moreover, Spence Jr bought the drawbacks of Drake’s technique, especially on defensive skills. He said, “He’s not protecting himself. Everybody tries to be like Mayweather and keep that low guard like that.”

“You can tell he’s been training. Let me find out. He’s probably been training at J Prince Jr.’s boxing gym in Houston. He’s definitely not trash. I done seen worse.”

Who will Errol Spence Jr face next in the ring?
