WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury seems too eager to get into the ring irrespective of the opponent. Fury recently called out Oleksandr Usyk for a match in December, but the offer was rejected. Following this, he set his sights on Anthony Joshua, who recently lost to the Ukrainian boxer. He offered Joshua an opportunity for a shot at the title. However, it would have been a champion to challenger revenue split, which is 80-20 between the fighters.

Fury was called out by fans, claiming that Joshua would certainly reject this offer. The backlash led The Gypsy King to offer new terms for this fight. He posted a video on his social media announcing that he would now split the purse 60-40.

“I’ve been bombarded with messages about how much I’m gonna pay AJ. Everyone’s saying 80-20, 70-30, 75-25. The actual answer is I’ve offered him 60-40. 40 percent of this amazing fight because I want this fight to happen.” He said in the video.

Fresh off Resounding Defeat, Anthony Joshua Responds to Tyson Fury’s Offer: “I Don’t Do…”

However, fans were far from satisfied with Fury as they slammed him for changing his mind time and time again.

Fans react to the new offer Tyson Fury presented Joshua

One fan stated that Joshua had lost 3 out of his last 5 fights and wanted Fury to take on Usyk for the undisputed championship.

Another fan hilariously mocked this new offer and stated that Fury wanted to fight Joshua for free a few months back.

Moreover, one fan was curious as to why Fury wanted to fight Joshua in November after Joshua claimed he would be ready by December.

However, one fan was shocked that ‘AJ’ was getting 40 percent and wondered how much Dillian Whyte made in his fight against Fury.

One fan was on The Gypsy King’s side claiming that Joshua would easily get outboxed in this match.

Another fan stated that Fury was ducking Usyk who has a direct claim to his belt while openly challenging Joshua.

Furthermore, one fan stated that he wanted to fight Joshua, who just lost to Usyk twice instead of unifying the titles.

One fan rightly claimed that Fury was going to rake in half a billion dollars in just two fights if this match took place.

Lastly, one fan thought that this was a fair offer by The Gypsy King who had his priorities straight.

It certainly looks like Fury has moved on from the prospect of facing Usyk in an undisputed title match. He is now more focused on getting into a fight with Joshua, which will probably be his last fight.

How will a fight against Joshua affect Fury’s legacy?

This fight has long been among the best potential fights to make in the heavyweight division. Moreover, the fight almost took place back in 2021 when Joshua was the unified champion. A fight between him and Fury was scheduled but got called off because of contractual obligations Fury had with his longtime rival, Deontay Wilder. Instead of Joshua, he had to face The Bronze Bomber for the third time while Joshua took on Usyk.

A fight with his fellow countryman would be a great financial opportunity for Fury. However, if The Gypsy King wants to cement his legacy as one of the best heavyweight ever, he needs to fight Usyk to become the undisputed champion.
