“Slay the Day the Tyson Way”- Mike Tyson Sends a Message to His Fans

Heavyweight icon Mike Tyson might have experienced a few scratchy days in his larger-than-life career. However, his glory exceeds them all and the ‘Iron’ remains rust-free even at the age of 55. The youngest man to ever hold the world heavyweight title has had his return a few months back. So, it’s safe to state that Mike Tyson might be the benchmark to many people, all over the world.

That said Tyson recently thrilled his fans with a nostalgic post that also expresses an inspiring message. He took to social media and uploaded a picture of him knocking out Trevor Berbick, straight from 1986. It was a historic day for the sport as 20-year-old Tyson continued to terrify his contemporaries by knocking out Berbick for the WBC belt.

In the caption, he wrote, “Slay the day the Tyson way”.

35 years later, ‘Tyson vs Berbick’ for the world title fight is still regarded as one of the biggest bouts in the sport’s history. It began the stellar journey of Tyson which remained unscratched for the next four years until James Douglas KOed ‘Iron’ in a shocking upset. Nevertheless, Mike Tyson could have one of the most successful in-ring careers.

Boasting off a 50-6 record, Tyson holds 44 knockout wins as a professional pugilist. But he suffered severe controversies in his personal life that turned him into the most infamous celebrity of that time. However, Mike Tyson transformed himself into an elite and inspired several people to overcome their adversaries. While he has hit the dotage now, Tyson continues to relish the celebrity status.

Besides, Tyson’s return to action against Roy Jones J., in 2020, urged several people to follow the same. Now, umpteen veterans boxers are ending retirements to stage epic comebacks. So, Tyson remains a blueprint for several success stories and it’s quite evident in the ongoing scenario.
