Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. is not someone to be taken lightly when it comes to following orders. The former five-division champion is a shrewd fighter and businessman who does not tolerate any disobedience, even trying to remove his father from his gym. However, Canadian boxer Cody Crowley found this the hard way after ‘Money’ Mayweather taught him a lesson that he would forever remember.
The Canadian boxer got a chance to be part of Mayweather’s camp but was told to leave it by his coaches. However, Crowley would deny this order and continue training which would eventually lead to him getting in the ring with ‘TBE’. In addition, this experience was one the young boxer had never seen in his life before.

Cody Crowley reveals his experience sparring with Floyd Mayweather
In a recent interview with Fight Hype TV, Crowley revealed that one day a few weeks after he refused to leave, Mayweather would have a sparring session with him. He added that ‘Money’ Mayweather was not in a good mood that day which complied with the animosity in the gym. Crowley then claimed that he was beaten so badly by the end of 15 minutes that he had an “out of body experience.”
“I got a whole entire gym banging on the ring screaming for me you’re gonna get knocked out you’re gonna die all this crazy crazy stuff that I’ve never seen before. I felt like I was in a movie and within five or six five or six minutes oh maybe like 10 or 15 my true my adrenaline was just so shot and I was getting beat like beat up so bad that um I literally had my very first Out of Body Experience,” said Crowley.
Despite getting beaten up he would refuse to quit and go the distance with Mayweather, which would make the former champion respect him for his determination. Moreover, he would even get the opportunity of a lifetime after this session.
Cody Crowley grabbed a great opportunity after his sparring session
Later in the interview, Crowley stated that while he was torn about not quitting, he decided to do exactly that. Moreover, he revealed that he was rewarded for his efforts by becoming Mayweather’s official training partner for his bout against Conor McGregor back in 2017.
“I was having a conversation with myself like okay you know you did it you tried it you can stop right now and take a knee here in front of everybody the very first time in your life take a knee and go home or if you continue to keep going against the greatest fighter on the planet, you will become a world champion and I went back into my body I blinked and you know 40 minutes later after 12 rounds Floyd just Taps me on the gloves and next thing you know I was one of his chief sparring partners for the remainder of the camp and for the Conor McGregor fight,” he said.

This resilience would turn out to be quite beneficial for Crowley who will face former world title challenger Abel Ramos. The bout is set to take place this Saturday and a victory here would certainly put the 21-0 boxer into title contention.
