Terence Crawford Feels Ticket Sales Isn’t the Reason Behind Him Not Fighting Manny Pacquiao

Terence Crawford ranks among the most prime welterweight boxers of the modern era. A few months back, he was in contention to make his return to the ring against Manny Pacquiao. However, a fight between these two couldn’t come to life because of some uncertainties.
On the other hand, his arch-rival, Errol Spence Jr. bagged the Pacquiao fight, raising tremendous questions on ‘Bud’. Many boxing pundits felt Crawford wouldn’t have sold the tickets. But, recently Crawford shed some light on the entire matter and he even spoke about his foe, Spence Jr.
Speaking to ESPN, he said, “I actually don’t believe that you know. I think that’s an understatement. I think if I was fighting the type of the fighter of the same caliber of fighters that he’s fighting like a Mikey Garcia, I believe that I’ll fill up the stadium too.”

“Being that Mikey Garcia is a very big draw in Texas. So yeah, not to take away from Errol Spence, I believe Mikey Garcia pulled in more supporters than he did.”
‘Bud’, issuing a fiery response, even took a dig at ‘The Truth’ over his encounter with Garcia. Crawford is certainly eager to fight the best in the division as this will help him sell his fights better. The undefeated boxer has hung around the game for a while, and it’s prime time he takes up fights that will add to his legacy.

Who should Terence Crawford actually face to sell his fights well?
One welterweight contest that has been in the pipeline for years is a mighty 12-round war between Crawford and Spence Jr. Until now, the duo has mocked each other verbally and built interest. Unfortunately, when it comes to the actual fight, the pair haven’t even got close to signing a deal.
Looking at this scenario, if Crawford faces the likes of Spence Jr. and more, he’ll attract attention and ticket sales. Hence, it’ll be intriguing to see how he takes things ahead for his own benefit. What do you make of ‘Bud’s comments?
