Former five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. is considered one of the greatest boxers of all time. Moreover, Mayweather was recently inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. His induction was much anticipated and well deserved. With a record of 50-0, it’s hard not to acknowledge his contribution to the sport.

Mayweather was overcome by emotion after his induction. While accepting the honor, he said, “I done a lot in my career, but this is by far the best.”

Additionally, he also added, “I want to thank the International Boxing Hall of Fame for giving me this. This right here is going to my dad because he deserves it.”

Moreover, Muhammad Ali’s daughter Laila Ali comforted an emotional Mayweather. The occasion was obviously overwhelming, as it validated decades of hard work and dedication from the boxer. Notably, Laila Ali was also inducted into the hall of fame as a part of the modern women’s category.

The boxing community was overjoyed to welcome the new set of inductees. In fact, Terence Crawford took to social media to congratulate Mayweather and the other inductees.

In an Instagram post, he wished all the inductees. Moreover, he also expressed his desire to be inducted into the hall of fame someday.

Boxing fans believe that the honor was well deserved

Boxing fans took to social media to express their thoughts on Mayweather being inducted.

User @itsjustjoshy mentioned that Mayweather’s induction was well deserved. Meanwhile, user @Cjizzle1984 felt that it was about time that he received the honor.

Similarly, a few users mentioned Mayweather was one of the greatest boxers of all time. They wouldn’t be out of bound for saying that.

However, user @MasS_APp3aL meant that while Mayweather was not ‘exciting’ enough for him, he was still one of the greatest boxers of all time.

Meanwhile, user @DonCorrleon mentioned that Mayweather’s boxing IQ was unmatched. On the other hand, @SeagalCrypto added that ‘TBE’ loves boxing as much as he loves money.

Moreover, a few users felt that, irrespective of the hate Mayweather receives, his achievements are commendable.
