The highly anticipated rematch billed as ‘Rage on the Red Sea’ for the unified WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight ended on a disappointing note for the British heavyweight icon Anthony Joshua.

The former two-time champ entered the ring to seek revenge for his first loss but could not alter the verdict in his favor. As he lost the fight for the second time in Saudi Arabia in a row. Following Joshua’s loss, his trainer, Robert Garcia, opened up on the loss.

Michael Benson of talk sport wrote, “Anthony Joshua’s trainer Robert Garcia: “I think Oleksandr Usyk was mentally stronger… His mind made him turn the tide. And I think Anthony’s mind is a bit weaker than Usyk’s – instead of going out stronger, his mind and exhaustion played games with him.”

After the loss in the first collision, Joshua held his team and his coach accountable for it. According to him, his corner played a very big role in his loss against Usyk. As a result, he removed his long-time trainer and hired Garcia to train for the rematch. However, before the fight, Garcia was very sure of Joshua’s victory, but the fight result shattered all his hopes.
