Former world heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson, has molded himself to become one of the greatest boxers of all time. However, it is also a very well-known fact that the champ had a rough childhood. He once revealed how one of his dark memories from his childhood played a major role in making him ‘sex*ally dysfunctional’.

Tyson was raised by his mother, Lorna Smith Tyson, who was a single mother. Moreover, he also had two older siblings, Rodney and Denise Tyson.

Recently, Tyson was in an exclusive interview with The Guardian. In conversation, he detailed a scary incident from when he was seven years old, “Once, my mother was fighting with this guy, Eddie, and it’s barbaric. Eddie knocked out her gold tooth and me and Denise [his sister] are screaming.”

‘Iron’ Mikes’s eyes darted in horror as he described what his mother did in retaliation. He said, “My mother’s real slick. She puts on a pot of boiling water. The next thing I know, she’s pouring boiling water over Eddie. He was screaming, his back and face covered in blisters.”

Tyson also mentioned that his sister came to the aid of their mother’s ‘burnt lover’. And that she sterilized a needle over a fire to pop his blisters. Moreover, he also gave the man a quarter to comfort him. It was said that the man later went to the store and got alcohol for his mother.

Mike Tyson was taken aback by the man’s actions

‘The Baddest Man on The Planet’ was surprised by the actions of his mother’s lover. He couldn’t comprehend the fact that the man purchased alcohol for his mother, in spite of her burning him.

In fact, the memory is still fresh in Tyson’s mind over 40 years after the incident.
