With less than a week away from his fight against Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia yet again questioned ‘Tank’ Davis for not taking the bout at 140 lbs. Since Garcia is “very comfortable” fighting at 140 lbs, he believes Davis deliberately agreed to fight at 136 lbs. Although Davis fought for a championship at 140 lbs, Garcia thinks the former wants to fight him at 136 lbs only to face a weakened opponent on the 22nd of April.
In Henry Garcia‘s opinion, by cutting weight fighters lose their “fluids and strength“. And without adequate proteins, “one becomes very drained“. Synonymous with his father’s views, Garcia believes ‘Tank’ is terrified of meeting ‘KingRy’ at 140 lbs. “If you’re not afraid, then what’s four pounds?” thus, questioned Garcia ahead of their bout.

Ryan Garcia declares Gervonta Davis to be “afraid”
Garcia strongly believes Davis lacks faith when it comes to fighting at 140 lbs. Anyway, in 2022, even Floyd Mayweather urged Garcia to make the “sacrifice“ considering his desire to fight ‘Tank’ in boxing. Only five days ahead of their bout, Garcia stated, “‘Tank’ definitely didn’t want this fight at 140 which is a weight I’m very comfortable at. So he [is] choosing to make me cut even more weight to 136 in hopes that it’ll weaken me.”

“It’s not like ‘Tank’ has never fought at 140. He fought for a championship at 140. He declares himself as a champion at 140, So there’s really no other reason for him not to do this other than he’s terrified of what I could do,“ he added. In his opinion, the four pounds Davis demanded Garcia lose is the former’s kryptonite. “This is not me complaining. You’re really afraid of four pounds? That’s your kryptonite, ‘Tank’? Never thought that,” Garcia declared. With only a few days away from the contest, Garcia believes he has reached the best shape of his life. Likewise, his fans are eager to see him face ‘Tank’ Davis in the ring.
