Shakur Stevenson might have disappointed fans with his last performance but one cannot disregard the boxer’s prowess. The unbeaten American boxer, secured a unanimous decision win against Edwin De Los Santos from the Dominican Republic to capture the vacant WBC world lightweight title. However, the fight received criticism from fans who expressed dissatisfaction with the limited action, prompting some to even boo during the match.

It goes to say that Shakur is someone everyone keeps an eye out for. Naturally, if you train with the former undisputed lightweight champion, you will be influenced as well. Recently, Stevenson’s stablemate Mannie Chance won the 14th National Championship. Fans did not hesitate to share their opinion on the matter. Let’s look at what everyone had to say about it.

Fans show disregard for Mannie Chance’s win

While Stevenson on Instagram, backed his stablemate saying, “They was tryna rob u so bad my young n*****, good shit you gone be one of the greatest ever.. I’m so proud of u champ” Fans had something else to say.

One comment read, “You are destined for nothing after Shakur’s last bs performance.” referencing to Shakur’s win over Edwin De Los Santos.

Another fan stated, “If you around Shakur, you destined to fall asleep if you watch him fight”.

Amidst all this, one fan showed his support to Stevenson, “Gold medalist! If you around SHAKUR just destined for great things”.

One commenter did not hold back, saying “It’s bs lmao. the best dude don’t even go to these trash tournaments. Ethan Smith just got robbed. F amateur boxing”.

Fans also questioned Chance over his fights asking, “How many times do these guys fight national championships a year? I thought  you would only fight once a year.”

Overall, fans reacted negatively to Chance winning his national championship.

Shakur Stevenson eyeing a match with Ryan Garcia

Stevenson was ringside in Ryan Garcia’s recent fight against Oscar Duarte. Garcia dominated Duarte for 8 rounds before he finally found his opening and dropped him. While the Olympic medalist was somewhat impressed with Garcia, he saw that the hugely popular star frequently used the same weapon. “He only got a left hook” Stevenson said in an interview.

Stevenson and Garcia have battled each other on social media over the last few weeks. Stevenson, who is currently fighting in the lightweight category, advised Garcia to drop a few pounds and face him in the ring in 2024. While Stevenson does think that Garcia is a good fighter, he fully believes that he will win the fight against him.
