Modern-day boxing fans are lucky to witness one of the greatest rivalries between two boxers. Earlier it was Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier, then it was Mike Tyson vs. Evander Holyfield. Now we are witnessing a fierce rivalry between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin. The two are among the greatest boxers of this generation, and fans are eager to see this magnanimous trilogy fight.

The two titans will go up against each other on September 17th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It has been weeks since the rivals have been berating each other in press conferences. Gennady Golovkin seems very confident about defeating Alvarez, and he stated, “Canelo doesn’t bother me at all, but when a person has a lot of bad traits, traits that get in the way of him living a normal life, that bothers him. That’s what we see right now.”

He further added, “In his last fight, the knockout was not necessary [to beat him]. It’s encouraging that the judges are not loyal to Canelo anymore. They don’t feel this burden of his image.”

“Arrogance,” Golovkin said, “and arrogance is punishable.”

Canelo Alvarez opens up about his goal for his upcoming match  

The Mexican is coming from his first loss since his 2013 fight with Floyd Mayweather. Some time back, Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol defeated Canelo Alvarez. Now, Alvarez is set to face Golovkin next.

While talking about his goals and ambitions, the Mexican stated, “I think it’s gonna be a good fight. But my goal is end the fight before the 12 rounds.”

Well, both the fighters seem very confident and eager to get inside the ring with each other. They first squared off in 2017, but the bout ended in a controversial draw. Following that, the two met again the next year to settle scores.
