“The Old Heads Ain’t Guiding These Guys Correctly”: Amid Shakur Stevenson Beef, Devin Haney’s Father Gets Blasted Over Recent Leaked Footage Fiasco

Shakur Stevenson and Devin ‘The Dream’ Haney have taken some lethal shots at each other. The war of words is spearheaded by Shakur Stevenson, who is infamous for his witty way of keeping his X followers engaged. From active discussion on the boxing scene to going at contemporary boxers, the man leaves no stone unturned in using his words to cause some serious damage. In yet another endeavor of his, he called out Devin Haney for not taking the fight against him.

Earlier, Stevenson’s team had written a letter to the WBC to order the mandated fight against Devin Haney. However, Haney had two options. One, stay at his weight and fight Stevenson or go up the weight class to challenge WBC champion Regis Prograis. The fighter, excited to move up the ranks, chose the latter but also requested the WBC to freeze the title he held at lightweight. In recent developments, there was conjecture that the two fighters might spar against each other. In light of these reports, some shocking declarations were made by Haney’s father.

Uproar over Devin Haney and his strategies, his dad spills the tea

Recently, a video surfaced wherein Devin Haney’s dad can be seen making some serious statements on the possibility of his son and Stevenson going against each other. However, the catch here is that the video was mostly not taken with his consent. The stealth video features him spilling the beans over Haney, possibly dodging Stevenson.

But as the video emerged, folks were quick to respond to it. Infamous Youtuber, Truth said, “Where I’m from (Newark, NJ) this is considered hoe shit. Don’t matter who recorded it. If the conversation genuine why is your phone out on sneaky time? That’s [snake] activity.. This a black eye & a no-no‼️ The old heads ain’t guiding these guys correctly..”

Taking this entire fiasco a notch higher, Bill Haney also had things to say. Not happy with his privacy being impinged, he said, “Are they wearing wires? What’s going on?… That was over four years ago. We’ve never been at 130lbs, I was talking about him [Shakur].” Senior Haney also cleared the air about what he actually meant. He further attributed the video leak to Shakur.

What did the conversation entail?

In a shocking video, Devin’s father and trainer Bill Haney can be seen admitting to the fact his son is probably dodging ‘Sugar’ Stevenson. Claiming that if Sugar does even come to Haney’s weight class at 130, his son will move to 140.

He said, “The first thing is I don’t even know how it because I thought we was getting points you get what I mean?….it was always like Devin, Ni*ga are you dropping? You ni*gas talked, nigga this whole sh*t was started because we locked in on Kur (Shakur) not Kur is getting out on us!”

Elaborating further on the two fighters probably never coming face-to-face, Bill said, ” I said was inside the weight classes when we moving, just like nigga is moving right now. Brother it was too hot in 30 we already ready to go till 40 bruh”.
