However, Tyson’s story is a bit more peculiar. Even after achieving momentous success, the former two time Heavyweight champion continued to face setbacks but fought against all odds to make his way out of misery. Apart from his boxing career, his story outside the ring too has captivated generations. Mike Tyson grew up witnessing domestic violence in his household and was a victim of bullying. His life changed for the better after meeting  Cus D’Amato and he began training under his guidance. Subsequently, the two developed a father-son type bond and eventually, D’Amato became his legal guardian.

Tyson developed a deep-rooted passion for the ‘sweet science.’ Rather than wasting his time away in the streets, young Tyson was working hard in the boxing gym to make a name for himself. In 1986, Tyson fought for the Heavyweight championship and established himself as the youngest Heavyweight champion of the world. That being said, Tyson’s hardships were far from over.
