Olajide William Olatunji aka KSI and Logan Paul go way back in history. The two have fought twice in the ring, and years later have transformed their bond from being opponents to business partners. Having navigated such a journey, it is quite a given presumption that if they have a common rival, they will collectively leave some scathes on him. Facing their wrath now is, Tommy Fury.

On the 14th of October, influencer-turned-boxer KSI went against British boxer, Tommy Fury in a celebrity matchup. On the same night, at the same Manchester Arena, Logan Paul fought Dillon Danis for the co-main event. While KSI remains sour from the loss Fury gave him, Paul continues to chase a fight against the latter. Hence, this gives the duo a common rival in the sport. A rivalry so lethal that they even want to banish him from the combat realm.

KSI and Logan Paul ask Tommy Fury to give up boxing

In a conversation on ‘Maverick’s’ Podcast, ‘Impaulsive,’ the co-founders of Prime Hydration discussed the fight that went down between ‘JJ’ and Tommy Fury. In days leading to the fight, Fury had made loud claims that he would stop KSI by the sixth round. However, at the end of fight night, the results were not as promised by the British fighter. He won the fight but through a unanimous decision. Speaking about claims ‘TNT’ had earlier made, KSI said, “I think I saw a clip somewhere where Tommy fury was saying if KSI lasted six rounds against me, I’m going to quit boxing.”

‘Maverick’ Paul chimed in suggesting that Fury should quit boxing. Motivated by Paul’s words, KSI added, “Bro, he struggled. Legit. Like he struggled against two YouTubers. And he’s a pro-boxer. He’s been boxing since he was 6. I’m sorry. But what are you doing?” TNT has registered victories against two influencers this year. First, in late February against an unbeaten Jake Paul through a split decision. Second, the recent one against KSI.

Paul and KSI’s calls for Tommy Fury to leave boxing were further echoed aloud by fans in the comments section.

Tommy Fury: influencer boxer or pro-boxer?

Fury has a boxing record of 10 unbeaten fights. Most of them however were against cross-over fighters like ‘Problem Child’ Paul and KSI. While he does continue to position himself as a professional boxer, the community has retorted back questioning the choices of his opponents. One fan mirrored this discourse.

Another user agreed with KSI and Logan’s suggestion that Fury has hardly fought any professional boxers despite having trained to be a pro fighter.

One thing such cross-over fights ensure is the massive pay cheques they furnish the fighters with. For his fight against KSI, Fury reportedly made £3.7 million. A fan leveraged such reports to argue that Fury would not retire if he continued receiving such massive amounts.

Another user tried to make sense of the argument levied by KSI and Paul.

In the same conversation, a user further debated that Tommy Fury should well be disqualified from creator boxing fights because he simply is not a creator.

The dust has hardly settled on the 14th October fight. The fight between KSI and Tommy Fury has reignited the debate around pro boxers fighting influencer boxers. Is it fair for someone like Fury who has trained like a pro boxer for almost all his life to test his boxing acumen against someone like KSI who is fairly new to the intricacies of the sport?
