Despite falling off from grace in recent years, Broner is still a recognizable name in the sport. However, it seemed that The Problem was not happy with the treatment he was getting for promoting the fight as he walked away from an interview disgruntled with the setup.
Broner walks away from an interview
Boxing promotion Showtime recently hosted a virtual press conference with Broner and Figueroa to announce the upcoming fight, but Broner didn’t seem too happy with the setup as he stated that he would have preferred an offline press conference.
“I’m gonna be a hundred percent honest with you, Brian. I ain’t with none of the sh*t they got going on. I feel like Al Haymon and Stephen Espinoza are bulls****g because, why is we doing a press conference on a computer when you guys. They don’t do Floyd s**t on the computer when you fight a YouTuber, they don’t do anybody else s**t on the computer, but they want to do my sh** on the computer.” He said, pointing out that other boxers like Floyd Mayweather get offline press conferences while also taking shots at Al Haymon and Showtime president Stephen Espinoza.
Moreover, he also stated his dissatisfaction with the way he was being promoted and claimed that the fight was being delayed.”That’s telling me they don’t give a f**k about me. So when you say it’s f**k me, it’s f**k y’all, and at the end of the day, that’s what I really just came here to let y’all know. Anybody can see it at this point y’all b******g y’all been supposed to make this fight, y’all given us dates, y’all keep pushing dates back like man, come on! who do a six-month camp?” He told the reporter, after which he left the press conference.

It looks like Broner is livid that he is not getting the attention he thinks he deserves for being in the sport for such a long time and that his achievements are being disregarded since his fall from stardom.
Adrien Broner vs Omar Figueroa
Since their scheduled fight got canceled in 2018, Broner has fought Jessie Vargas to a draw and lost to Manny Pacquiao. His most recent fight was a decision win over Jovanie Santiago back in February 2021. Broner currently has a record of 34-4-1 and has held titles in four divisions. He was cited to be boxing’s next star, however, his fall from grace makes his story one of the biggest ‘What ifs’ in boxing.
