The former two-time unified heavyweight champion claimed that the guys in the viral video were not students. They were actually cricket players who were around 25 years old or so.
“They’re not Uni students. They’re actually like 25. They’re not like 15-year-olds. So they live next door, so I just couldn’t sleep one night,” Joshua said in an interview with a YouTube channel JD official.
According to AJ, they were five in one room and it was around 4 o’clock in the morning. Since no one was around, comments were basically made to target him. Therefore, he went to them to discuss the matter.
Joshua said, “I told the guys, “listen I’m here to work. I’m not here to play games. I’ve shown the ultimate respect since I’ve been here and If you don’t want to start going down this path of trading words and trading whatever, it’s fine with me. So I’m going to ask you how would you like it if I break your jaw.'”
However, AJ confessed that he did not want to address them like this. He felt bad for doing so, but he did it to inform them that whatever they were doing was wrong.
What actually happened between Anthony Joshua and the University students?
A few months ago, a video of the British heavyweight icon went viral that caught a lot of media attention. In the clip, AJ appeared to threaten a group of university students to crack their jaws.

It happened after the students allegedly passed derogatory remarks against Joshua. In a drunk state, they reportedly claimed that the latter was afraid to face another heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury.
This did not sit well with the boxer and he decided to teach the students a lesson in their own fashion. Reportedly, he approached them in a not-so-kind manner which made global headlines no soon as the video went viral.
