In a recent interview at the premiere of the movie, Jordan spoke about the science of boxing and how it has garnered a bad reputation. I think boxing sometimes gets a bad rep for being just all violent and brawn, but it’s a very intelligent sport. The sweet science of it so to be able to kind of lean into it and show the different layers and levels of boxing was really, really important to me, especially from the Latino community. In this franchise, we haven’t had a prominent Latino fighter. So to be able to give it that first representation really meant a lot to me,” said Jordan.

Looking at the boxers featured in the franchise’s past, the actors portrayed the Americans and the Russians. Hence, Creed III would be the first installment in this franchise to feature Latino boxers. In the movie, the Latino community is well represented with stars like Canelo Alvarez, Jose Benavidez, and Teófimo López in it. Also, this would be the first movie in the franchise without Sylvester Stallone in it.
