Teofimo Lopez is all set to defend his titles against George Kambosos Jr. on November 27. This fight got scheduled several times, and it certainly is one of the most unfortunate bouts of 2021. Post this fight, ‘The Takeover’ will have a number of options to take anyone and everyone from the lightweight landscape. However, his promoter, Bob Arum, wants to line Lopez up with a notable opponent, and one of the best lightweights at present.
Speaking to FightHype, Arum said, “A fight I would love to see is Teofimo Lopez vs Gervonta Davis. Tremendous fight. So that’s what I’ll try to make. Assuming Teofimo gets through his fight and Davis gets through his fight. I’ll call Floyd Mayweather up, or Al Haymon, and try to make that fight.” (h/t ESPN Ringside)
