Earlier this year, the WBC and the Ring magazine heavyweight champion Tyson Fury announced his retirement from boxing following his spectacular knockout win over heated rival and mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte. This obviously has made several storylines.

Later, in an interview with talkSPORT, Fury put forth a condition that could force him to break his promise. He admitted that if $500 million would be offered to him, then he would come out of retirement and fight the winner of the highly anticipated rematch between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk. This hinted that ‘The Gypsy King’ is willing to make his way to the ring.

“Because if AJ gets beat again off Usyk, then there’s only gonna be one man to redeem this great fighting nation of the United Kingdom and he goes by the name of Tyson Fury. I can solve all the problems, the embarrassment, all that stuff that’s gonna happen. One call, but it’s gonna cost half a billi. 500 million pounds or dollars, I don’t care, as long as it’s half a billi”, Fury said.

While fans were guessing Fury’s return, another development happened. Fury’s promoter Bob Arum declared that he had fixed a potentially undisputed heavyweight title fight deal with Usyk’s team.

Michael Benson of talkSPORT reported it on Twitter.

In an interview with Barbershop Conversations, Arum said, “I am hoping that [Oleksandr] Usyk wins because I’ve talked with his people and I think they would be anxious to fight Tyson Fury and I would hope to do that fight in December maybe or early next year.”

When will Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua collide to decide the ultimate winner?

The former unified champ Joshua will gear up to revenge on the reigning WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion Usyk on August 20. The fight is set to land in Saudi Arabia.

The verdict of this fight will decide the road map of the heavyweight division. It will also play an important role in Fury’s return because if Joshua comes out of the fight as a winner, then the picture would be different.
