Undefeated world champion boxer Sunny Edwards took to Twitter to defend fellow boxer Haris Namani after a video of Namani engaging in violent behavior emerged online. The video, which appears to have been recorded in a desolate street at night, shows Namani boxing with another individual. The tweet quickly garnered attention and sparked a conversation about redemption and second chances. Many praised Edwards for his defense of Namani, but many implied that the follow-through cannot be categorized as self-defense.

In his tweet, Sunny Edwards wrote, “Looks like the other lad threw the first punch from the clip we saw, and when it’s done, he leaves him alone.” He argued that Namani didn’t pull the first punch, nor did Namani take it too far by attacking him when he was done. Edwards defended Namani by implying that this was pure self-defense.
