Mauricio Lara was confident about repeating what he had done previously against Josh Warrington in an intriguing four-round rematch tonight. However, the scrap abruptly ended with an accidental headbutt that left the Mexican star bloodied and incapable of continuing the bout.
The matchup had already seen several exciting moments. In just under the two rounds, both men had cracked each other and had set the path to an intense collision for the last two rounds. However, the accidental headbutt on Lara urged the medical team to step up and evacuate the ring.

I wanted to see more rounds, but unfortunately, something like that had never happened to me before. It was shaping up to be a great fight.”
Mauricio Lara (23-2-1) will now have to wait to recover and Josh Warrington (30-1-1) might have to opt for some other name before having another chance at his Mexican rival.
