Gervonta Davis ranks among the scariest boxing young guns of recent times. Davis, with his out-of-the-box power, has outclassed every opponent he’s faced until now. That said, he will look to continue his dominant streak this weekend too when he locks horns with Isaac Cruz.

Davis will square off with Isaac Cruz for his WBA lightweight ‘regular’ title. ‘Tank’ is an obvious favorite to win here, but he will still remain keen on leaving the fans in awe with his performance.

Ahead of the fight, Davis reflected on his last sensational win over Mario Barrios. In this fight too, ‘Tank’ was a favorite to win. However, he wasn’t ahead on the scorecards per Floyd Mayweather. That said, ‘TBE’ went to his corner, and triggered the young force to go for the kill.

Davis said, “When Floyd came up to me, he was like ‘You’re down on the official cards’. But I’m like, I just dropped him, it’s no way I’m down. But you know that’s coming from Floyd. He said like ‘Show me you’re great’. That’s all he had to say.”

After keenly listening to Mayweather’s advice, Davis went even more aggressive on Barrios.

The Maryland native struck his fellow adversary with power-packed hooks. And it was in round 11, when the referee interfered to stop the fight, and award Davis the victory.

With this victory, Davis, once again, proved why he’s one of the most promising young boxers in the world. Also, he showed how employing Mayweather‘s advice worked wonders for him.
