Many believe that ‘The Soul Taker’ is a natural fit for the bigger game. Given the division he is currently at, a familiar sequence of thought might suggest a super line-up against someone like Canelo Alvarez. More so, Tim Tszyu, per the latest conversation that he had with the media, also seems keen to move across divisions to get big fights. Who knows? It might happen one day in the future. But then, is there any other matchup in the vicinity that may sound like honey to the ears of fans and followers?

Who could have wondered that one day Kostya Tszyu‘s son would be following his path, carrying forward his renowned legacy? The unbeaten Sydney-born boxer, a WBO light middleweight champion, is now expanding his wings further outside the ‘Down Under’. For starters, he would be fighting Keith Thurman on March 30 for a non-title 155 catchweight bout. But what about the future? Is there a space to accommodate another big A-lister in his grand scheme of things? There could be; that’s what he told media personnel while sharing that there wasn’t any dearth of attempts in the past.

The revelation came while Tim Tszyu was speaking with the media after yesterday’s kickoff press conference at The Conga Room in Los Angeles. He narrated how he and Terence Crawford were in fact having talks about a fight. But unfortunately, it couldn’t proceed further. Before that, the Thurman bout came up.

He said, “Yeah, well, me, I respect Crawford. I think he’s one caliber of a fighter. But we were in negotiations to fight, but this fight came across first,” when one of the reporters asked whether a win over Keith Thurman might tempt ‘Bud’ to call out the Aussie boxer for a fight.

But he also made it clear that the doors were not completely shut on the blockbuster line-up. Possibilities are very much in the offing. “And I think me and Crawford will definitely collide in the future, for sure, 100%.

The March 30 event in Las Vegas is a legacy-maker for Tim Tszyu. He returns to the United States after two years for a fight. But what makes the four-match event special is that it will be the first PBC pay-per-view broadcast through Amazon Prime after their landmark deal last year.

Now, that’s a real big one. Tim Tszyu is a heavy-hitter like his father. Many expect him to sail through Keith Thurman, who returns after a break of two years. So fans shouldn’t lose any hope. In fact, Tszyu’s disclosure would have already raised the heartbeats of many fans. If, indeed, a fight between Tim Tszyu and Terence Crawford makes it through, then undoubtedly it will be one of the biggest middleweight breakthroughs of recent times.

More so, on his part, even the former undisputed and now unified welterweight champion has been equally open about his ambitions to chase glory and greenbacks. Like Tszyu, he has explicitly expressed an interest in moving up the divisions to fight the likes of Jermell Charlo and Canelo Alvarez. So that being the case, why not fight Tim Tszyu, who’s just a division above?
