Team Regis Prograis vs Team Devin Haney at the press conference
Possessing more than 13 years of coaching and training experience, Evins Tobler, a former world-class track star and bodybuilder, has played a significant role in Prograis’ training. Bill and Devin Haney unleashed a barrage of criticism on the boxing phenom Prograis and Tobler during an explosive press conference. Bill questioned Prograis’ preparation strategies. They were not sufficient for the caliber and skills of his son. He specifically targeted Prograis’ trainer, questioning his competence and techniques.
The WBC lightweight champion echoed his father’s disapproval. Neither had any doubts about emerging victorious in the upcoming face-off. Prograis, known for his southpaw prowess and impressive record, responded with equal fervor. He confidently supported his strength trainer. He is ready to face any challenge that the Haneys throw his way. “Who you knocked out Devin?! C’mon Dev, who the f*** did you knock out?! Nobody! Soft a** ni**a” responded Prograis. Haney did not hold back “You slow, you a one-trick pony”. The altercation went on as both sides pulled out new arguments and fired them at each other.
Renowned in professional boxing for his strategic acumen, Bill went as far as to declare a knockout. “There will be a knockout,” said Bill. Tobler is not one to back down. He reminded him of the knockouts Prograis has to his name. Let us delve into Tobler’s role as Prograis’ trainer.
Is Evins Tobler a reliable trainer?
Evins, an accomplished ‘Conditioning Guru’, holds a position among the top 200 long jumpers in history. As Puerto Rico’s national college long jump champion, he even secured 6th place at the USA Track & Field Championship long jump in 1990. To add to that, he also held 4th place at the USA Olympic Sports Festival East Coast Team Long Jump in 1989. That isn’t all. The trainer also earned the title of Penn Relays Long Jump Champion.

Evins currently serves as a Personal Trainer and Strength Conditioning Guru. Prograis is not the only one he has trained. He has also actively trained Virginia Fuchs, the female national boxing champion who triumphed in the USA Olympic trials in the 112lbs class and secured her spot to represent the USA in Rio, along with other high-profile professional boxers.
