The ‘Destroyer’ looks extremely keen on reclaiming his heavyweight world titles and wants a trilogy fight against Anthony Joshua.
Ruiz has a different fight style altogether. While most of the heavyweights look to maintain distance and land bombs, Ruiz closes the distance and then likes to strike his opponents.
His shell guard defense is not easily breakable, which was clearly evident in his first matchup with Anthony Joshua. Although he possesses a portly physique in the division of big men, he has one of the best granite chins too.
He absorbed the power coming off mighty Anthony Joshua’s right hands and remained conscious throughout the rematch.
The ‘Destroyer’ separated from his former trainer and joined forces with Eddy Reynoso. This is the man behind the P4P king of boxing, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.
Ruiz is keeping his social media game strong. He frequently updates fans on his grilling workouts.
Will Andy Ruiz Jr., resurrect himself in 2021?
Ruiz hasn’t fought in 2020. With his current training regime and state of mind, it’s unquestionable that Andy Ruiz Jr. will be back better than ever. No matter who he gets next in line, he has his eyes set on the end goal, i.e. a trilogy against ‘AJ.
But, Ruiz’s hunger to take on Joshua won’t be fulfilled so easily. Joshua beat Pulev in his last fight and will fight in an undisputed title fight against Tyson Fury to unify the heavyweight titles.
