‘Why Should We Consider Danny Garcia a Top Welterweight?’ – Terence Crawford Asks a Hard-Hitting Question

This Saturday, Errol Spence Jr will defend his WBC and IBF welterweight titles against Danny Garcia in a highly anticipated fight. The fans will have their eyes on the match as will the other welterweight contenders who would be keen on boxing either Spence Jr or Garcia in the future. The WBO welterweight champion, Terence Crawford, is one of them.
‘Bud’ shed some light on this fight. In an interaction with fans, he said, “If you know boxing, why should we consider Danny Garcia a top welterweight in the division? Can somebody tell me that? That’s my point, I hate no one of them. I just want to hear from the people.”

He added, “I am just speaking facts, because everybody slamming my record, coming at my throne saying this and that so I gotta give it back sometimes. Let’s be real, Danny ain’t beat nobody in the welterweight division. He beat Paulie (Malignaggi), Robert Guerrero, and everybody beat him if you ask me.”
“So, if Errol beats Danny, I say it’s gonna be a walk-in apart. Danny can fight his a** off, that’s why I consider him one of the top welterweights in the division. Not taking away his two close decision losses that he have. But, at the same time if we going by with the ‘media say’ he’s not a top welterweight… but he lost. Being honest, keeping it real, two shots that he had he lost.”
The ‘Bud’ said he doesn’t hate anyone and Danny is his ‘boy’. However, he feels that the media has hyped Garcia immensely, and he is palpably an unimportant contender in the welterweights.
