At the Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne, Cherneka Johnson, with the IBF World Super Bantam Title on the line, beat Susie Ramadan in a highlight-reel fight. Toward the end of the second round, the two boxers had a head clash that caused a wide cut on the skin over Johnson’s skull. However, displaying what fans are now calling the ‘heart of a lion’, Johnson marched on and conquered the night.
Cherneka Johnson, 27, fought with blood dripping down but eyes on the prize. Despite the severity of the cut, Johnson continued overwhelmingly to win the fight. The bout went the entire distance of the scheduled ten rounds and Johnson won via decision.

Irrespective of the age and generation gap, Ramadan also fought toe-to-toe, determined to win. Johnson’s cut has now taken the center of the floor. While some are comparing it to a bullet hole, some are thinking about an injury caused by an axe.
