Terence Crawford has yet to come across the face of defeat. Even regarding commercial viability, one may consider the recent bout’s staggering gate revenue of $21 million. But sadly, after all these years and his prolific achievements, ‘Bud’ has to face questions, needing him to validate every triumph. So, how long will the Nebraskan endure such acrimonious insinuations?

It took six years for Terence Crawford to grab his first world title, the WBO Lightweight. He had to wait another three years to become an undisputed champion for the first time. Once again, a six-year-long wait bore fruit when he became an undisputed champion for the second time. But seemingly, the ninth-round victory over Errol Spence Jr. only encouraged a few naysayers to lodge their misgivings.

A riposte à la Terence Crawford

But an exchange on X, formerly known as Twitter, displayed that Terence Crawford would no longer brook any of the gobbledygook. It remains unclear what prompted him to post the message. The slanging match visibly commenced with the undisputed champion stating that a few (or someone) are upset at him since he accomplished all he promised. So, while urging everyone to leave their selfish justifications at the door, Crawford mentioned they all despised their existence.

But soon, he received a reply from @RayJack97010721. So the latter hinted at the severe road accident in 2019 that grievously injured Errol Spence Jr. He advised ‘Bud’ not to drum up rationales for fighting an opponent four years late to the bout after recovering from an accident. Terence Crawford shot back that the person must have felt so betrayed since he proved all the previously held assumptions about who he was to be false.

As expected, many who commented expressed their support for the Omaha, Nebraska-born Southpaw. One of the followers said it was disappointing to witness people seeking justification for Crawford’s wins when they should have lauded him.

The world champion will turn 36 in a month. Now, he must evaluate the next course of action to help him consolidate his legacy. During recent interviews, he spoke about taking on either Jermell Charlo or Canelo Alvarez. The duo will, incidentally, meet on September 30. Thus, a victory in a higher division will make him an undisputed champion in three divisions, an unheard-of feat in boxing.
