The exchange between boxing’s pound-for-pound king Canelo Alvarez and the UFC’s pound-for-pound king Kamaru Usman is heating. In the process, the undisputed super middleweight champion destroyed the UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, with his iconic catchphrase.

Though the pair is in the news of a probable clash for many months, the recent back-and-forth started on April 27. The CEO of dominance MMA management and Usman’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, labeled the Mexican star as ‘chicken‘ for not accepting ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’s challenge. He further mentioned why Canelo Alvarez is ducking the UFC champion.

The 31-year-old reacted to it. He added laughing emojis and wrote, “who the f*ck is this?”

Since Usman was the topic of discussion, he came up with a taunting remark against Canelo Alvarez and further carried on the feud.

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ wrote, “Let’s just all relax… before somebody gets hurt.”

Interestingly, Canelo Alvarez had a better response to it.

The undisputed super middleweight champion answered back, “I agree cuz it will not be me.”

Moreover, before the banter speed up further, Usman expressed his intentions. He openly challenged Canelo Alvarez for a fight either in the boxing ring or in the MMA cage.

Unfortunately, Usman could not get a positive answer to it. The Mexican superstar replied with his iconic catchphrase. He wrote, “You calling me out right ? You want the pay day right? So you know where, but sit down it’s not your turn yet I have a legacy to make.” 

In fact, this was not the first time that Alvarez had mentioned payday while rejecting Usman’s challenge.

Prior to this, he had given a similar response to Usman.

As history suggests, UFC fighters’ earnings are less compared to professional boxers most of the time. A prime example for the same is Tyson Fury‘s title defense against Dillian Whyte and Francis Ngannou’s title defense against Ciryl Gane.
