Ismael Barroso will get another chance to fight Rolando Romero and also compete for the WBA super lightweight title. His opponent, Ohara Davies, who he stopped last night in the first round? Well, uncertain of his future after his career’s third loss, he only has apologies to offer his fans.
40-year-old Barroso has secured the interim WBA super lightweight title by defeating Davies, and will next challenge Romero in a mandatory clash for the WBA title. Now, while the Venezuelan southpaw has won those claims, Ohara remains back, licking his wounds and figuring out what went wrong.

Taking to his X, 31-year-old, ‘Two Tank’ uploaded a video in which he offered apologies to his fans back in the UK who stayed up to see his Las Vegas fight take its course. While they hoped to see him come home a victor, Davies did not stand up to those expectations. He noted, “I just wanna say I’m sorry to the people that had faith in me. All of the fans, people that didn’t go to bed, people that wanted to wait up and watch me become champion.”

Davies was confident of his victory in the days leading to the bout. So much so that his pre-fight press mainly involved conversations on his mandatory fight against ‘Rolly’ Romero and seldom about the Barroso fight. Speaking about his preparedness for the fight, he explained, “It’s a fight that I saw myself winning. I done the camp right, everyone done their job correctly, I made a mistake and I paid for it. I threw a good shot, I rushed in, and ended up getting caught. So, all I gotta say is I’m sorry, I didn’t see this coming. I don’t think anyone saw this coming.”

Davies was floored twice and stopped in the opening round by Barroso, shattering the former challenger’s hopes of getting a title fight anytime soon, especially against Rolly Romero. However, his determination for it continues to simmer.
Two Tank Receives Support from “the last person” he expected
On his X, Davies posted a picture of him with Rolly Romero at the venue, detailing how he did not explain the latter’s support. Furthering his promise to return after some introspection, he wrote, “Last person I expected to show me support after tonight with positive words but it happened, and I’ll be back, have to take some time off and fix some errors where I went wrong.”
