In April of 2022, the “Gypsy King” Tyson Fury announced his retirement but it was short-lived. Fury continues to remain the WBC heavyweight champion. Meanwhile, Oleksandr Usyk continues his reign as the unified heavyweight champion. For the longest time, fans have been demanding an undisputed heavyweight title fight. And for a brief period, everybody thought that the fight between the two heavyweight champions was very close to being finalized.
However, both parties failed to come to an agreement dashing any hopes of watching the much-anticipated bout this year. The fans then started speculating about who Fury’s next opponent is going to be. And after long last, the fans will get to witness Tyson Fury share the ring with Francis Ngannou.
However, Nagnnou was not the most favored pick for the fans to say the least. Naturally, there was a backlash on social media when the bout got announced. Amidst the backlash, an iconic boxer made his case to justify Fury fighting Nagnnou.

A bout between Fury and Nagnnou will be financially lucrative for both fighters. And at least on paper, the chances of Fury losing the bout are minimal. Considering the risk-to-reward ratio, former boxing champion Naseem Hamed justified Fury taking on Nagnnou next.
Hamed is a recognizable figure in the sport and had a celebrated career. He is the former featherweight champion and was defeated once in his entire career. Many know him for his flashy and unpredictable style of boxing.
